The Largo da Igreja is located in the village of Ribaldeira, in the area of Dois Portos and Runa, municipality of Torres Vedras. It is situated next to the municipal road that connects the locality to the surrounding rural profile, in a slightly elevated spot, offering a wide perspective of the surrounding countryside.
This space is created around the church, serving as a buffer to the main access. The N248 road passes nearby, but the square maintains a tranquil character, away from intense traffic, which enhances its serene atmosphere.
The church, with a white-painted facade with gables and corners highlighted in blue, dates back to the late Baroque period. The bell tower stands out with its simple slits and slightly bulbous spires, which follow the traditional line of religious constructions in the district of Lisbon.
In the center of the square stands a stone processional cross, possibly from the 18th century, which marks the symbolic role of the space as a community meeting point for religious celebrations and local festivities.
The pavement of cobblestones and gravel gives the square a rustic simplicity. Some cork oaks and small trees punctuate the perimeter, creating patches of shade and adding a natural element to the ambiance.
From here, it is possible to see the rural landscape of Ribaldeira, with nearby cultivated fields and olive groves. The combination of the slight curve of the road, the white-blue houses, and the vegetation makes this place a photographic setting of very genuine features.
