Situated on the coast of Ericeira, municipality of Mafra, this small beach is located at the foot of a cliff with visible limestone strata. It is separated from the more bustling areas by a rocky stretch, which gives it a more secluded atmosphere.
From the top of the cliff, one can see the vast sandy area and the characteristic swells of the region, extending north to Ribeira de Ilhas. The surroundings are marked by low-lying coastal vegetation, adapted to the Atlantic winds.
Access to the sandy area is via a steep trail between rocks, without any official support or signage. This path limits the number of visitors, providing a peaceful and less frequented environment.
Those seeking moments of tranquility by the sea appreciate the rhythm of the tides and the sound of waves breaking against the coastline's contours, in a setting that invites contemplation.
At the water's edge, irregular rocky blocks stand out, creating small natural pools at low tide. These reliefs offer unique observation points to appreciate the sea's oscillation.
The surrounding cliff exhibits sedimentary layers that, under the setting sun, gain warm textures and tones, transforming the location into a scene of strong visual impact.
Although not officially recognized for naturist practices, the beach is occasionally chosen for this purpose, benefiting from the privacy guaranteed by its difficult accessibility. In some parts of the trail, the word "nudistas" is carved into the rock.
There are no facilities on-site, so those who go there should bring everything they need for a day by the sea, respecting the informal and discreet nature of the space.
