Bafureira Beach is located on the coast of Carcavelos and Parede, within the municipality of Cascais, in the Lisbon district. It is situated to the west of São Pedro do Estoril Beach, separated from it by a natural jetty and a series of rock formations. Its more sheltered position, nestled between imposing cliffs, gives it a distinctive and welcoming atmosphere. Access to the sandy area is via a staircase that descends the cliffside, inviting visitors to discover this unique space. The surrounding landscape is marked by its proximity to the ocean and the remarkable presence of coastal geological formations.

The name "Bafureira" carries an echo of the region's history and language. Its designation dates back to the Latin term biferaria, a word that, although now obsolete in contemporary Portuguese, was associated with the idea of a "wild fig tree."
