The Praia das Maçãs Pool is a sports and recreational complex with a history dating back to the 20th century. Its initial project, dated 1949, was conceived by architects João Guilherme Faria da Costa and Raúl Tojal.

Construction was completed in 1955, resulting in a complex designed to provide a distinct leisure space. The main building, with its shell-shaped plan and white cladding, is a remarkable architectural element that complements the site's aesthetic.
