Outeiro da Vela Urban Park is located within the urban area of Cascais, more precisely in the Fontainhas area, an integral part of the Union of Parishes of Cascais-Estoril. Its elevated location, characteristic of the Outeiro da Vela area, provides a relaxed atmosphere, despite its proximity to the urban fabric.

From this position, visitors can enjoy a wide view of the surrounding landscape, including a perspective of Cascais Bay.

A Space for Physical Activities

With an area of 28,000 square meters, this park dedicates a significant portion, approximately 9,500 square meters, to mountain biking (MTB) enthusiasts. This space, a result of a local participatory budget, offers a variety of routes, from MTB tracks to a mini-pump track and a trial course, designed for different skill levels. There is also a bicycle maintenance and repair area, with a self-service workshop and air pump, a relevant convenience for cyclists.

In addition to cycling modalities, the park includes an outdoor gym, inviting the practice of physical exercise in an open environment.

Leisure and Conviviality

Outeiro da Vela Urban Park was designed to provide leisure moments for all ages. It features a playground equipped with various recreational elements, such as a mini-slide, a climbing pyramid, and swings, intended for the youngest visitors. A network of paths, approximately 900 meters long, runs throughout the park's extension, ideal for relaxing walks or bike rides, allowing visitors to discover the different nooks of the place.

Along these routes, there are rest and picnic areas, inviting relaxation and outdoor meal sharing. The park also features a mini-amphitheater, a versatile space for small activities or simply for contemplating the landscape.
