The Mira-Sintra Urban Park is located in the Agualva area, part of the town of Agualva e Mira-Sintra, in the municipality of Sintra. This green space is integrated into the region's urban environment, situated between Avenida 25 de Abril and Rua 1.º de Maio. Covering an area of approximately two hectares, the park was designed to be a landmark and leisure spot accessible to the local community and visitors.

Natural Environment and Sustainability

The park stands out for its landscape composed of slopes supporting shrub and herbaceous xerophytic vegetation, i.e., plants that adapt well to dry conditions. This choice contributes to the sustainability of the space, effectively managing the terrain's unevenness. Although it is a place with trees still in their growth phase, their arrangement creates a green and welcoming atmosphere, providing a natural refuge in the urban area.

Leisure and Physical Activity Spaces

Dedicated to leisure and exercise, the Mira-Sintra Urban Park offers various structures for different activities. Visitors can find two "Boulders", which are artificial rocks for climbing, and a "Half Pipe", ideal for rollerblading or skateboarding. There is also a roller-skating rink and a complete circuit for physical exercise, inviting visitors to maintain their fitness outdoors.

The Element of Water

One of the distinctive features of this park is the presence of an artificial channel where water flows continuously, originating from an underground bore. The intention of this element is to create a complete sensory experience. The gentle murmur of the water contributes to a pleasant soundscape, harmonizing with the resting and relaxation areas, making the environment more conducive to relaxation and tranquility.
