The Buraca Urban Park is located in the municipality of Amadora, in the town of Buraca, specifically in the Alto da Cova da Moura area. This urban setting gives the park the function of a green lung and a space for the residents and visitors of this area to socialize.
Inaugurated in 1991, this park was designed as a place dedicated to leisure and sports. With an approximate area of six hectares, it offers a vast expanse of lawns and open areas conducive to relaxation or more dynamic activities. Throughout the park, there are open-air game courts, which invite the practice of various outdoor sports.
One of the most distinctive and visually striking elements of the Buraca Urban Park is the presence of the Aqueduct of the Free Waters. This impressive historical engineering work crosses the park on its northern edge, creating a bridge between the nature of the space and an architectural legacy of great value. Its passage gives a unique character to the park's landscape.
The park features a green and well-maintained environment, with extensive lawns and the presence of various mature trees, including palm trees, which contribute to the beauty and shade of the place. There is also an area specifically designed for the younger ones, with a playground that provides moments of fun. The lighting present in the park allows the space to be enjoyed even after dark, creating a pleasant and safe environment.
