Located in Lisbon, in the Benfica area, the Alto da Serafina Recreational Park is situated in an elevated position within the landscape. This location, set in a more natural urban environment, provides a tranquil atmosphere and a vantage point over part of the surrounding urban area.
The park stands out for its various areas dedicated to children's leisure, designed for different ages. There are spaces equipped for the youngest, with swings and slides adapted to their age group.
For older children, the park offers larger structures to explore, such as towers, a boat-shaped structure, and a lighthouse. A wooden maze and a set of tents reminiscent of indigenous culture, which give the place its popular name, complete the recreational offerings, making it an appealing space for play.
At one of the park's highest points, there is a clearing that serves as a viewpoint. This spot, equipped with a shelter and benches, allows visitors to enjoy a perspective of the surrounding landscape.
It is possible to glimpse part of the East side of Lisbon, including elements such as the Amoreiras Towers and the Águas Livres Aqueduct, as well as the 25 de Abril Bridge over the Tagus river in the distance, towards the South. The abundant presence of vegetation provides an environment of greater contact with nature, although at times it may obscure closer views.
In addition to the recreational areas and viewpoint, the park features extensive lawns and various species of trees and shrubs that contribute to its inviting atmosphere for relaxation and outdoor socializing.
It includes a picnic area, equipped for visitors to enjoy outdoor meals in a relaxed setting. A bandstand in the central space complements the existing structures.
