Parque dos Poetas, Phase III is located in Oeiras, in the Espargal area, integrating into the municipality's urban zone. This section of the park, the last to be completed, offers an elevated position that allows for a comprehensive view of the surrounding landscape, including the coast and the Tagus estuary.
In this phase of the park, the Temple of Poetry stands out, a building designed to honor words and literary creation. Inside, there are spaces dedicated to exhibitions and an auditorium, serving as focal points for cultural activities. The Temple of Poetry also offers a generous balcony, from which one can enjoy a panoramic view over a large part of the Oeiras municipality, inviting contemplation of the scenery.
One of the most captivating spots in Parque dos Poetas, Phase III is the Bugio Viewpoint. From this location, the view extends over the meeting point of the Tagus estuary with the Atlantic Ocean. It is possible to glimpse the Bugio Lighthouse and a portion of the Setúbal peninsula, creating a vast and evocative horizon. This viewpoint provides a calm environment, ideal for moments of reflection and for appreciating the breadth of the landscape.
This section of Parque dos Poetas continues the tradition of honoring the great names of Lusophone poetry. Phase III is specifically dedicated to poets from the Baroque and Romantic periods, as well as international poets who wrote in Portuguese. The sculptures, dispersed throughout the green area, transform the space into a unique open-air museum, where each work of art evokes an author's legacy. The initial vision for this project originated with the poet David Mourão-Ferreira and the sculptor Francisco Simões, complemented by the work of landscapist Francisco Caldeira Cabral and architect Elsa Severino.
Phase III of the park includes an amphitheater, an outdoor space designed for various artistic and cultural manifestations. Its structure is integrated into the natural landscape, providing a welcoming and open venue for enjoying shows and events. This element reinforces the park's multifunctional character, consolidating it as a dynamic meeting point for visitors.
