Located in the Olivais area, in Lisbon, Quinta Conde dos Arcos presents a remarkable contrast between urban dynamism and natural serenity. This space is situated in an area of the city that has been developing, with modern constructions nearby, yet it maintains an atmosphere that evokes rurality. It is an authentic green refuge, inviting tranquility in the heart of Lisbon.
The history of Quinta Conde dos Arcos dates back to the 17th century, when the property was acquired by the Noronha family, who would later become Counts of Arcos. Once a country retreat equipped with olive presses, vineyards, and orchards, the quinta preserves remnants of this past in its main manor house. Visitors can appreciate distinctive architectural elements, such as the presence of a caravel on the portals and tile details on the facade of the historic building. Adjacent to the palace, a beautiful tank ornamented with a sculpture contributes to the uniqueness of the setting.
With an area of about nine hectares, Quinta Conde dos Arcos constitutes a significant green lung in the capital. Its natural diversity is remarkable, hosting around 28 tree species. Among these, an impressive dragon tree stands out, classified as a tree of public interest and estimated to be over two hundred years old. This environment is also conducive to birdwatching, offering those interested the opportunity to appreciate the rich biodiversity that inhabits this unique space in Lisbon.
