Oriente Riverside Park is strategically positioned in Marvila, Lisbon, integrated into the modern urban area of Prata Riverside Village. This green space extends along the northern bank of the Tagus River, marking the beginning of its stretch near the old warehouses of Doca do Poço do Bispo. Its privileged location offers visitors a wide perspective and direct contact with Lisbon's waterfront, in an environment that combines urban revitalization with the imposing presence of the estuary.
The result of a careful landscape architecture project, Oriente Riverside Park was conceived to redefine the city's connection with its river. The park is distinguished by its vast green area, which hosts more than three hundred planted trees, creating a tranquil and inviting atmosphere. Its modern design harmoniously integrates into the landscape, respecting the area's industrial heritage while offering a natural and pleasant refuge by the water.
The park invites exploration through a network of paths designed for different ways to enjoy the space. There are two distinct pedestrian paths: one that hugs the riverside line, providing unobstructed views of the Tagus, and another that winds through the interior of the green area. Additionally, a bicycle path crosses the park, ideal for those who prefer to explore on wheels. One of the most distinctive aspects is the five geometric "solar sculptures," art pieces that were created specifically for this location. These structures not only cast interesting shadows on the ground, creating a play of light and form, but also function as sundials, adding an interactive and scenic element to the stroll.
In addition to its scenic qualities and possibilities for exploration, Oriente Riverside Park offers a place for leisure and social interaction. It includes a children's playground, designed with younger visitors in mind. Along the park's expanse, the presence of old maritime containers, cleverly repurposed, pays homage to the area's industrial history, functioning as design elements that naturally integrate into the landscape and complement the park's atmosphere.
