Design and Concept

With an area of approximately 0.8 hectares, this garden is distinguished by its unique landscape, designed to evoke the movement of the ocean. The terrain is carefully sculpted into smooth, undulating curves, simulating the rhythm of waves forming and breaking. The grass, which covers the entire space, transforms the ground into a true sculpture, inviting interaction and contemplation of nature in the heart of the city.

Artistic Inspiration

The design of the Jardim das Ondas is the result of a collaboration between visual artist Fernanda Fragateiro and landscape architect João Gomes da Silva. The work is directly inspired by the fluidity and patterns of water, seeking to translate the continuous movement of the sea onto the ground. By creating this space, the authors wanted to offer a place that, through its form, invited people to move, whether climbing, descending, running, or simply enjoying the surrounding landscape. This garden is thus a fusion of art, landscape architecture, and the visitor's own experience.
