The Fialho de Almeida Garden is located in the heart of Lisbon, in the parish of Misericórdia, in an area locally known as Praça das Flores (Square of Flowers). Its location makes it a space of tranquility nestled within the vibrant and traditional atmosphere of this part of the city.
This garden offers a welcoming green area, spanning approximately 1450 square meters. It stands out for the presence of considerable trees such as plane trees, linden trees, magnolias, and a floss silk tree, which provide shade and a cool environment, especially on warmer days. The paths are delineated by traditional Portuguese pavement.
At the center of the garden, there is a lake, which constitutes one of its most characteristic features. The presence of a fountain in the lake contributes to the serenity of the space, creating a peaceful focal point, inviting for a pause and observation.
The designation "Fialho de Almeida" associated with the garden is said, according to some references, to have originated from a donation made by the writer of the same name to the city of Lisbon. Although this historical fact is not fully confirmed, it lends a possible symbolic link between the garden and the literary figure.
