The Doutor António Macedo Garden is located in a quiet urban area of the Mina de Água parish, more precisely in the Vila Chã Urbanization, in the municipality of Amadora. Its green area extends between Francisco Bugalho Street and António Nobre Street, serving as a natural link between these thoroughfares.
This space is crossed by the Ribeira da Falagueira, a water feature that lends a particular character to the environment. A pedestrian passage has been carefully integrated over the riverbed, facilitating crossing and uniting the two extremities of the garden.
Inaugurated in 1997, the Doutor António Macedo Garden covers a considerable area of approximately one hectare, offering a refuge of tranquility and social gathering in Mina de Água. It was designed to provide moments of rest and interaction for its visitors, featuring a paved central area equipped with several garden benches, ideal for a relaxing break.
Over the years, the garden has undergone continuous improvements, notably the requalification and expansion of its playground in 2009. With a vast area of 1,240 square meters, the playground is a point of attraction for families, featuring a variety of equipment, such as slides integrated into slopes, swings, spring riders, and balance structures.
With the comfort of those who enjoy this space in mind, new seating areas have been created and the pedestrian paths have been enhanced. Additionally, a shading screen has been installed over the playground area, contributing to more pleasant use, especially on hotter days.
