The Star Garden is located in Barcarena, in the municipality of Oeiras, next to an old walled architectural complex of yellow color. It is situated in a quiet corner, separated from the street by discreet walls and accessible on foot from the town center.

Around it extends a transitional urban space, with paved paths and adjacent garden areas, which create a sense of continuity between the garden and larger green spaces.

Aesthetics and atmosphere:

Inside, a sundial stands out, installed on a panel of light tiles, whose metal gnomon casts shadows that mark the hours. This scenic element confers a contemplative character, while evoking scientific and astronomical traditions.

Scattered across the lawn, there are circles of red brick in concentric terraces, some open in the center, others in the shape of flattened cones. These structures create visual reading points and invite exploration of different perspectives of the space.

Architectural elements and furniture:

A set of metal pergolas, old foundations of some machinery or installation, connects the tall trees to the surrounding wall, suggesting geometric rhythms in the ensemble. The projected shadows offer varied lines of light and darkness throughout the day.

Dark metal benches, aligned alongside hedges and cypresses, allow for silent observation of the garden. The proximity of deciduous trees provides shade in the summer and greater luminosity in the winter, giving dynamism to the space.
