This particular green space surrounds the Igreja de São João de Deus, extending on both sides of the temple, and is bordered by some of the area's main arteries, such as Avenida do México and Avenida Marconi, in addition to bordering Praça de Londres. The Legacy of a Name

The name "Jardim da Irmã Lucia" is a tribute to a figure of great relevance in Portugal's religious history. Lúcia dos Santos, better known as Irmã Lúcia, was one of the three shepherd children who claimed to have witnessed the apparitions of Our Lady in Fátima in 1917. The naming of this garden, which occurred in 2005, recognizes her life journey and the significance her story holds for many, conferring upon the place a distinct cultural and symbolic dimension.
