The Pestana Palace Hotel is located in the historic Santo Amaro neighborhood in Lisbon. Its position allows for a panoramic view of the city and the Tagus River. The urban surroundings give it a distinct atmosphere, being situated in an area with its own characteristics within the Portuguese capital.
This unique building is a 19th-century palace, commissioned by the Marquis of Valle Flôr for his family. After a meticulous restoration process, the palace has regained its original splendor and is currently recognized as a National Monument. Inside, one can observe artistic details that evoke the opulence of past eras, with gilded columns and capitals reminiscent of the grandeur of other European palaces. The space also houses works of art, including ceiling paintings and portraits by Carlos Reis, a distinguished 19th-century Portuguese artist.
Enveloping the palace are lush gardens that constitute one of its most notable features. This green space, of great natural beauty, is home to a diversity of plants and trees, some of which have been classified as "National Monument". Strolling through these gardens offers an experience of tranquility and allows for the contemplation of botanical and landscape heritage preserved over time.
