Located in Loures, the Vieira da Silva Municipal Gallery is integrated into Adão Barata Park. Its presence in the park offers a tranquil environment that complements the cultural experience of the visit.
The building housing the Vieira da Silva Municipal Gallery has a curious history. It occupies the first floor of the old Macau Pavilion, which was part of the world exhibition held in Lisbon in 1998, the famous Expo’98. This origin gives the space a connection to a relevant historical period.
With the aim of promoting accessibility to art and bringing the public closer to cultural spaces, the Vieira da Silva Municipal Gallery focuses its programming on exhibitions by established artists, with national and international recognition, within the field of plastic arts.
The space has two rooms, one dedicated to temporary exhibitions and another multi-purpose, designed to host different formats and cultural events. The facilities were conceived to ensure access for visitors with reduced mobility.
