Located in the Parish of Venteira, in the municipality of Amadora, this gallery is situated in the historic building known as Casa Aprígio Gomes, on Rua Luís de Camões.
Built in 1903 for the industrialist José Aprígio Gomes, Casa Aprígio Gomes is a building classified as Property of Municipal Interest since 2006. Originally, it was a Living Science Center of Amadora from 2003 to 2011.
The building stands out for its diversity of artistic styles. It has a three-story turret that connects the different floors, as well as two loggias (galleries), one with arches in stonework and the other smaller. The roof is topped by a conical tiled dome. The space has a quadrangular plan decorated with tiles and a prominent cornice.
In 2014, the building was converted into the Artur Bual Municipal Gallery, in homage to the visual artist Artur Bual, who passed away in 1999. The gallery was inaugurated with an exhibition of his works.
The Artur Bual Municipal Gallery is an important cultural space in Amadora. It is used for various art exhibitions and cultural events, including book presentations.
