The Church of São Pedro, also known as the Parish Church of Ericeira, is located in the picturesque village of Ericeira, in the municipality of Mafra.
The church began as a chapel in 1466, known as the Chapel of São Pedro. Since 1658, it has undergone several expansions until reaching its current size.
In the chancel, visitors can admire four paintings depicting the life of São Pedro, as well as an altarpiece and a tabernacle decorated with Baroque carvings, accompanied by images of São Pedro and São João Evangelista.
The nave of the church has four side altars dedicated to: Our Lady of the Conception, Sacred Heart of Jesus, Our Lady of the Rosary, and Calvary.
The sacristy houses an altar dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, which was originally in the porch of the church, which was destroyed for the expansion works.
In front of the church, there is a cross erected in 1782, which adds charm to the area.
The Church of São Pedro has been classified as a Property of Public Interest since 1984, highlighting its historical and cultural importance.
