Situated in the heart of the Historic Urban Centre of Carcavelos, CriArte is located in a traditional area of the locality of Carcavelos, in the municipality of Cascais. Its central position in this historic environment grants it a particular setting, integrated into the daily life of the local community.

A Rescued Past

The building that today houses CriArte has its own history. Known in other times as the old Vitória Cine of Carcavelos, and also by the name Ludance, this space was rehabilitated through a project that began within the scope of a community proposal. This initiative allowed for the preservation of the site's memory, adapting it to a new cultural vocation for the region.

Epicentre of Culture and Creativity

Currently, CriArte establishes itself as a vibrant cultural centre, dedicated to hosting and promoting diverse forms of artistic expression. Its auditorium, with a capacity for approximately two hundred spectators, and a dance studio, are infrastructures that allow for the presentation of theatre plays, concerts, dance performances, cinema sessions, and various cultural performances. This space offers a stage for both established artists and new talents.

Dynamics and Artistic Participation

CriArte's programming is driven by the Creative Youth Association, an entity based in this very location and responsible for the conception of a diverse cultural agenda. This partnership ensures a continuous offer of events, ranging from conferences and workshops to initiatives that celebrate music, theatre, and other performing arts, contributing to the enrichment of cultural life in Carcavelos and the wider community.
