The Outeiro da Vela Urban Park is located in Cascais, within the urban area of Outeiro da Vela, which is part of the Union of Parishes of Cascais and Estoril. This green space provides a tranquil environment within the city fabric, and from its viewpoint, it is possible to enjoy an unobstructed view over the Bay of Cascais.

A Space for Sports

Largely dedicated to sports, the park stands out for its extensive area reserved for Mountain Biking, covering approximately 9,500m². Here, practitioners can find a variety of trails, including ten distinct routes, a mini Pumptrack, and a Trial circuit, totaling 1521 meters in length. The location is prepared for different levels of difficulty, catering to both beginners and more experienced athletes, and also features a self-service workshop and a bicycle air pump.

Leisure and Well-being

In addition to sports activities, the Outeiro da Vela Urban Park offers a network of pedestrian and cycling paths extending for 900 meters, allowing exploration of its entire 28,000m² area. This space was designed for leisure and social interaction, integrating a children's playground with equipment such as a slide, climbing pyramid, and swings. There is also an outdoor gym and a mini-amphitheater, complemented by several rest areas and designated picnic spots, inviting moments of relaxation and interaction.

The Origin of the Park

The Outeiro da Vela Urban Park is an example of the commitment to improving public spaces, having resulted from an initiative of the Cascais Participatory Budget. Its creation reflects a planning that aims to offer residents and visitors a multifunctional place, where contact with urban nature combines with sports practice and family leisure, contributing to the quality of life in the locality.
