Biodiversity and Ecological Corridor

With an area of approximately 41 thousand square meters, this park stands out for its significant natural value. A substantial part of its area is part of the National Ecological Network, underlining its importance. The park is crossed by the Ribeira dos Mochos, one of the main watercourses in the municipality of Cascais, which plays a crucial role in sustaining local biodiversity and forming a valuable ecological corridor.

Hydrological and Cultural Heritage

In addition to its natural richness, the Ribeira dos Mochos Urban Park preserves elements of a cultural heritage linked to water management. Inside, it is possible to find a mãe-de-água (water source/spring), a point of origin or water catchment, and the remains of an old aqueduct. These structures tell part of the history of the region's relationship with its water resources over time.

A Space for Recreation and Well-being

Inaugurated in 2010, following a requalification process aimed at consolidating and enhancing the area, the park was designed for the leisure and well-being of its visitors. It offers various amenities suitable for different activities, such as a children's playground for the little ones, an adventure track for exploration, and a fitness trail for those looking to stay active. There are also pleasant picnic areas and inviting shaded spots for relaxed strolls and moments of rest.

The Cascais Nurseries

This park also houses the Cascais Nurseries, a particularity that adds an extra dimension to the space. It is here that various species of plants and trees are cultivated, which will later be replanted and enrich other green areas of the municipality. This function underlines the park's role not only as a green lung but also as a support center for the ecology of the entire Cascais region.
