The Crismina Fort is located north of Água Doce beach, in the parish and municipality of Cascais, in the district of Lisbon. It is situated between the Marginal Road and the sea, near the EN 247.
This small maritime fortification was built to house a small garrison and help prevent the landing of enemy forces along the coast.
The Crismina Fort has been classified as a Property of Public Interest since September 29, 1978, by Decree No. 95.
The fort features Baroque military architecture with an irregular hexagonal plan. It consists of only a few single-story walls. On the main facade, there is a slightly arched door with a tombstone above.
It is a historical point of interest that offers a glimpse into the region's military past and allows visitors to appreciate the architecture of ancient fortifications.
