Casa do Relógio is located in the heart of Cascais' Historic Centre, occupying a prominent position in Praça 5 de Outubro. Its location is particularly privileged, being just a few steps from Cascais Bay, allowing those who stroll there to enjoy the proximity to the sea and the vibrant atmosphere of the town centre.
The name "Casa do Relógio" (Clock House) stems from its most distinctive feature: an emblematic clock that adorns the building's facade, positioned below the bells. This architectural element not only marks time for the town but has also become one of its most recognizable symbols, lending a unique identity to this noble space within the Cascais landscape.
This building boasts a rich history, having once served as Cascais' Town Hall. It was here that the municipal administration carried out its duties, lending the property significant civic and political importance over the years. Recently, Casa do Relógio underwent a revitalization process, transforming into a meeting point for the appreciation of national design and creation. This project sought to give new life and purpose to one of the town's most notable historic buildings, creating a space where Portuguese creativity and innovation are celebrated.
