Cadaval

The municipality of Cadaval, located in the Western region of Portugal, is a territory where the serenity of the rural landscape meets a rich natural and cultural heritage. The area is dominated by the imposing presence of the Serra de Montejunto, classified as a protected landscape. This mountain range offers remarkable biodiversity and observation points that provide sweeping views over the region, extending to the Atlantic Ocean on days with good visibility.

The lands of Cadaval are especially known for their agricultural vocation, with fruit production standing out, notably the celebrated Pêra Rocha do Oeste, a product that benefits from the characteristic climate and soil of this area. The orchards shape the landscape, especially in spring, when the trees blossom, and in summer and autumn, during the harvest.

Beyond its natural beauty, Cadaval possesses built heritage that reflects its history. In various localities within the municipality, it is possible to observe churches and chapels with traditional architectural features, as well as windmills that dot the hills, testaments to a rural life once more dependent on the force of the wind.

The atmosphere of Cadaval invites tranquility and the discovery of the authentic rhythm of the Portuguese countryside, allowing one to appreciate the genuineness of its people and customs.
