A Journey Through Time

This museum invites visitors on a journey through the history and evolution of the Cadaval territory and its relationship with the people who lived here. The objective is to present a broad overview, from the most distant eras to recent times, showing how the landscape and human life have transformed over the millennia.

From Dinosaurs to Local Heritage

The museum space addresses various aspects that shaped the identity of the municipality. It includes sections dedicated to Paleontology, where fossil remains can be observed, testifying to life in very ancient geological eras, including findings related to dinosaurs from the region. Archaeology explores prehistoric and ancient human occupations, with emphasis on artifacts collected from the important site of Castro de Pragança.

The museum also covers the documented History of Cadaval and its vast Cultural Heritage. Through various exhibited elements, it is possible to understand the traditions, customs, and aspects that characterize the culture and way of life of local communities over time, up to the present day.

Additional Resources

To complement the exhibitions, the museum has a historical archive and a library, which constitute a valuable collection for consultation and research on the region. Regularly, the space also hosts temporary exhibitions, which bring new perspectives and themes, enriching the visit and always offering something different to discover about Cadaval.
