Located in the parish of Carregado and Cadafais, in the municipality of Alenquer, Portugal, near the village of Pedra de Ouro.
National Monument since 1990.
Built on a plateau, with slopes on the hillsides, walls, and a double defensive system. The fortified area had an almost rectangular shape.
Possible existence of a tower, identified through the analysis of foundations. A funerary monument was also found.
Pieces found at the site are on display at the Hipólito Cabaço Municipal Museum. They include axes, knives, scrapers, bone spatulas, pins, metal objects, domestic and votive ceramics, shells, and seeds.
Visit to the plateau to see the walls and the defensive system, and a trip to the museum to see the historical objects discovered at the archaeological site.
Represents a fortified settlement from the Chalcolithic period, offering insight into the life and practices of the time.
