It is situated on the northern slope of the Serra dos Picotinhos, in an elevated position overlooking the floodplain that stretches between Freixial and Bucelas. The surroundings combine holm oaks and pastures, giving it an isolated and tranquil rural setting.
Likely built in the late 14th century as a manor house, the building has an L-shaped plan and a toponymy associated with old defensive structures. The north façade features a pointed arch portal made of ashlar and five corbels, remnants of a former porch or noble balcony.
The interior is arranged around a central vestibule, with interconnected rectangular rooms and a wooden staircase leading to the upper floor. In the southwest corner, a vaulted fragment of an oven remains, indicating the medieval kitchen area.
The rolling terrain around the house offers views over the Saloio valley and underscores the complex's dominant role in the agricultural landscape. Scattered walls and embankments recall old land divisions, while the native vegetation enhances the connection with the local nature.
The sense of isolation and the overlap between the built structure and the countryside highlight the dwelling's historical character, evoking an intimate connection between medieval architecture and the agricultural practices that sustained it.
