Cacém Urban Park, Quinta da Bela Vista is located in the Quinta da Bela Vista area, in Cacém, Sintra municipality. This green space stands out in the urban area, developing linearly and following the course of the Ribeira das Jardas stream.
The Ribeira das Jardas is a central element of this park, crossing it and defining its landscape. This watercourse, now unpolluted and open-air, holds notable historical importance, as it has served as a dividing landmark for the administrative and parish boundaries of the region since the 12th century.
With an area of approximately 5.7 hectares, the park features extensive grassy areas that stretch along the stream banks. Its design includes a network of paths, inviting visitors to take walks and engage in outdoor physical activity, providing direct contact with nature. Visitors have the opportunity to observe aquatic birds, such as ducks, which inhabit the stream.
Opened in 2008, the park was planned to offer a continuous circuit that follows the course of the Ribeira das Jardas. This layout allows visitors to enjoy a peaceful and inviting environment, ideal for a relaxing stroll or to spend a moment contemplating the natural landscape that integrates into the urban context.
