The "Super Heroes 4 Kids" space is located in São Martinho do Porto, a coastal town in the municipality of Alcobaça, within the Casal das Hortas urbanization, on Rua Conde de Avelar. This venue occupies the premises of the former Refer warehouse, adjacent to São Martinho do Porto train station, giving it a unique urban setting. The surrounding area is characterized by the Bay of São Martinho do Porto, known for its shell-like shape, which stands out as a natural element of great beauty in the landscape.
"Super Heroes 4 Kids" is a non-profit humanitarian association, whose main objective is to bring joy and hope to children, particularly those facing health challenges. The inspiration for this initiative emerged in 2014 in the United States of America, based on the story of a gentleman known as "Baltimore Batman," who visited hospitals dressed as a superhero to comfort children. The organization gained worldwide recognition, having already extended its solidarity efforts to hospitals in various countries. Its presence in Portugal, and specifically in São Martinho do Porto, is due to the Portuguese roots of its co-founder, who hails from the Alcobaça region and nurtured the desire to establish this project in his home country.
This venue was conceived as a refuge dedicated to children, where the fascinating universe of superheroes comes to life. The purpose is to offer a unique environment where children can relax, have fun, and most importantly, smile, through interaction with their favorite heroic figures. The space aims to stimulate imagination and promote moments of happiness. Additionally, on certain days, the venue may host special activities, such as live music and family-oriented events, contributing to a dynamic and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
