This ocean beach is located on the Atlantic coast of Peniche, integrated into the urban area of Peniche de Cima. Its position offers a direct link to the town, being part of a vast sandy stretch that extends along the coast. Access to the sandy area is facilitated by a stairway and wooden walkways that cross the dunes, providing a smooth transition between the urban space and the coastal strip.
Also known as Praia do Cerro, Peniche de Cima Beach stands out for its extensive sandy area, characterized by white, fine sand. To the northwest, the beach's limit is marked by a pier. On the land side, the sandy area is flanked by a dune system which, on its eastern slope, is undergoing recovery, with wooden fences protecting it, demonstrating care for the natural environment of the area.
Its waters, generally serene, invite moments of tranquility and are suitable for bathing. The Blue Flag recognition attests to its environmental quality and the conditions offered to visitors. Furthermore, the beach is accessible to people with reduced mobility, ensuring that this natural space can be enjoyed by a wider public.
