Opened on May 22, 1941, during the Estado Novo (New State) regime, to support local fishermen.
It functioned as a training center:
- Girls (10-19 years old) learned reading, sewing, cooking, and childcare.
- Boys received technical training in fishing.
Offered training to integrate fishing fleets. Graduates could become masters, boatswains, and fishing masters.
Since 1983, after remodeling, it houses the services of the Nazaré City Council.
Inaugurated on the same day, ceded to the Brotherhood of the Blessed Sacrament of Pederneira.
