The history of Casa do Povo de Alfeizerão began in 1914, with the founding of the Grémio Beneficente e Recreativo (Beneficent and Recreational Guild), an association dedicated to culture, leisure, and solidarity. This pioneering initiative evolved, in 1934, into the current Casa do Povo, established with the purpose of fostering a social spirit and improving the living conditions of its inhabitants. The current headquarters, officially inaugurated in 1944, consolidated its role as an essential pillar for the community, adapting its functions to the needs of each generation.

Meeting Point and Activity Hub

Over the decades, Casa do Povo has established itself as a dynamic space for various activities. In the past, it hosted amateur theater, cinema screenings, dances, and various sports competitions. Today, it maintains its multifaceted vocation, accommodating a games room, a library area, and a multi-sports court accessible to all, located behind the main building. The event hall continues to be a privileged venue for events and gatherings, demonstrating its ongoing relevance as a center for social and cultural aggregation in Alfeizerão.
