The Trancoso Cultural Center is located in the Praça do Município (Town Square), in the heart of the town. This central position makes it easily accessible for visitors to the village, naturally integrating it into Trancoso's civic and social space, and highlighting its relevance as a cultural hub for the local community.

A Cultural and Reading Hub

Inaugurated in June 2005, the Trancoso Cultural Center stands as a reference point for culture and knowledge in the region. The space houses a comprehensive library, designed for readers of all ages, with sections dedicated to both adults and children/young adults. Furthermore, it provides access to computers with internet connection, facilitating information consultation and research.

This facility also dedicates an area to the exhibition of temporary exhibitions, contributing to the local artistic and cultural dynamism by presenting various themes and works throughout the year.

Community Engagement

In addition to its permanent facilities, the Cultural Center features a multi-purpose space, designed to host various activities. This venue serves as a meeting point for gatherings and frequently hosts children's entertainment activities, fostering reading and cultural engagement among the younger generation. Its mission extends to promoting local knowledge and heritage across different generations, acting as a catalyst for Trancoso's cultural life.

Looking to the future, the Cultural Center plans to expand its offerings with the creation of a phonoteca (sound library), dedicated to music and sound recordings, and the opening of a social area, thus enriching the experience of its visitors and its function as a space for meeting and sharing.
