The Rio Diz Urban Park is located in the city of Guarda, in an area known as Zona da Estação, adjacent to the lower part of the town. Developing along the banks of the Diz river, this space integrates into the urban landscape, offering easy access from this area of the city.

Design and Environment:

This vast green space, with approximately 21 hectares, was inaugurated in 2007, as part of a broader urban requalification project. Its design, developed by Landscape Architect João Nunes, was inspired by natural landscapes, creating an environment that invites serenity and outdoor enjoyment.

The park is marked by an extensive artificial water mirror, which extends for over ten thousand square meters. This body of water harmonizes with the course of the Diz river, contributing to a visually pleasing and relaxing atmosphere.

Space for Everyone:

The Rio Diz Urban Park was designed to welcome visitors of all ages, offering various amenities for leisure. A modern children's playground stands out, with an original theme linked to space exploration, which stimulates children's imagination.

There are also large lawn areas, ideal for informal sports, as well as paths that invite quiet walks and bike rides. A semi-covered space, familiarly nicknamed the "igloo", and an area designated for picnics complete the available infrastructure. This location also plays an important role as a venue for various community events and shows, consolidating its dynamic function in the life of Guarda.
