The Miniature Automobile Museum is located in the city of Gouveia, in the urban area known as São Pedro. Its location is central, being next to the Town Hall building.
Situated within the local context, the museum is an accessible point of interest for those exploring Gouveia on foot, found in an easily identifiable area.
Inside, visitors discover a vast universe in reduced scale, dedicated to automobiles. The museum houses approximately four thousand miniatures on display, many originating from contributions by private collectors, which enrich the collection.
The permanent collections explore various themes from the automotive world, such as the Historical Evolution of the Automobile, World Rallies, the 3J series, and Presidential, VIP, and Papal Vehicles. In addition to these fixed exhibitions, temporary exhibitions are presented, bringing new miniatures and themes, renewing interest in the visit.
The idea of creating the Miniature Automobile Museum in Gouveia took shape and materialized with its inauguration in 2007. This project resulted from the joint efforts of various entities, including a private collector, the Municipality of Gouveia, Clube Escape Livre, and the Automobile Club of Portugal.
The museum was born with the purpose of showcasing and disseminating to the public some of the best collections of automobile miniatures existing in the country, creating a space dedicated to this type of collecting and to the history of the automobile viewed from this unique perspective.
More than a static exhibition space, the Miniature Automobile Museum seeks to be an interactive place. Regularly, it promotes events and educational-recreational activities aimed at engaging visitors, especially collectors, enthusiasts, and all those curious about the world of four wheels.
This dynamism contributes to the museum being a meeting and sharing point, creating a closer connection between the public and the fascinating world of automobile miniatures.
