Situated in the center of the village of Monte Perobolço, the church occupies a prominent place in a wide square paved with granite cobblestones. The open space around it allows for an unobstructed view of the fields surrounding the village.
This small churchyard serves as a meeting point for passers-by, offering a peaceful perspective on the gentle topography of the municipality of Almeida and the silhouette of the distant slopes.
Erected in the late 17th century, the Church of São Brás preserves traces of the popular devotion that spread throughout Beira Alta. Its dedication to the patron saint reflects traditions that are maintained in local festivals and liturgical celebrations.
Inside its single nave, there is a simple wooden altarpiece, where the worship of São Brás is manifested through images and ex-votos depicting requests for throat protection, a striking characteristic of this saint.
The main facade, with its worked granite stone quoins, displays a curved lintel portal and a central window that lends balance to the ensemble. Its robust and sober appearance refers to the traditional constructive solutions of the region.
Attached to the church body, the bell tower rises with two bells under a double arcade, crowned by a cross and granite adornments. This element culminates in an austere atmosphere, combining the material's rusticity with religious symbolism.
