Origin and Construction

Manor house from the 17th century, built in stone in the style of the manor houses of Beira Alta. It stands out for its robust and imposing tower.

History

, The original tower dates back to the 15th century and was probably added to an older palace.

, It is believed that the first owner was the king's coppersmith, reflected in the two cauldrons sculpted on the coat of arms.

, The current manor house was built two centuries later and has undergone several changes and additions over time.

, During the Peninsular War in the early 19th century, the manor house escaped destruction by Napoleonic troops due to its isolation. A window was added at this time (1808).

, In the 20th century, the manor house was sold and underwent several internal renovations, including the demolition of the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Esperança and the arch that supported the walkway.
