Quinta da Família Bívar Cumano is located near the city of Faro, in the parish of Faro (Sé e São Pedro), in the Algarve, Portugal.
Also known as Quinta Bívar Cúmano or Quinta do Rio Seco.
The water wheel, tank, and adjoining gate of the Quinta have been considered a Property of Municipal Interest since 1993.
The Quinta was a leisure farm, characterized as a structure for agricultural production and leisure housing.
Introduced in the 18th century in the Algarve, the Quinta was part of a type of leisure complex similar to Horta dos Macacos in Faro.
In the 1980s, the Quinta faced the threat of demolition due to plans to modify the route of National Road 125. Efforts were made to save the Quinta, including a proposal for classification by the Portuguese Institute of Cultural Heritage.
Unfortunately, the manor house building was demolished in the 1980s.
Quinta do Rio Seco is located between Faro and Olhão, next to National Road 125, and is part of the surrounding area of the Ria Formosa.
