Mouranitos Beach is located in the area of Barriga Beach, within the municipality of Vila do Bispo. It is situated within the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park, on a coastline facing the Atlantic Ocean.
Access to this sandy beach is possible by sea or, at low tide, by walking from the neighboring beach, Barriga Beach. For those who prefer to observe the beach from the top of the cliff, there is a dirt track that branches off National Road 268. From there, the descent to the sand is via a trail that requires some experience and caution.
This beach stands out for its extensive sandy area, which widens considerably during low tide. The waters are generally clear, and the sand has a golden hue.
The surrounding landscape is characterized by imposing cliffs that frame the sandy beach, creating a remarkably scenic setting. In the northern part of the beach, the presence of submerged rocks is a natural feature that should be taken into account, especially for those considering swimming.
Mouranitos Beach offers a tranquil and natural environment, conducive to moments of relaxation and contemplation. The serenity of the place invites visitors to enjoy the landscape and connect with nature in its purest form.
Although the waters are typically rough, the beach allows for sunbathing on its spacious sandy area. For water sports enthusiasts, sea conditions can vary and should be assessed locally. The natural setting is also suitable for walks, either along the waterline at low tide or along the accessible coastal areas atop the cliff, to enjoy panoramic views.
