Located in the Alporchinhos area, in Porches, Lagoa municipality, Praia dos Beijinhos (East) is nestled in a small cove of the coastal cliff. It is part of a stretch of coastline characterized by the presence of typical Algarve rock formations.
This stretch of coastline is known for attracting those seeking greater privacy and tranquility. The modest-sized sandy area offers a more intimate setting, distinct from the region's more crowded beaches. It's a place to enjoy the calm by the sea.
The landscape of Praia dos Beijinhos (East) is defined by the imposing cliffs that protect it and by the various rock formations scattered across the sand and along the waterline. These rocks can display shades ranging from the typical golden hues of the region to greener and darker tones. During low tide, small natural pools formed among the rocks can be observed.
The name "Praia dos Beijinhos" has a simple and curious origin. It is due to the abundance of small shells found there, which are popularly known as "beijinhos" (little kisses) due to their particular shape.
Access to this specific area of Praia dos Beijinhos is by walking from the neighboring beach, located to the West. It is crucial to note that this access is only safe and possible during low tide. At high tide, the sandy area becomes significantly reduced, possibly even disappearing, making coastal circulation impossible.
Being a more natural and isolated beach, Praia dos Beijinhos (East) does not have support infrastructures, such as restrooms or lifeguard surveillance. It is prudent to maintain a safe distance from the base of the cliffs, as there is a risk of rockfalls. It is recommended to bring what is necessary for your stay on the sand, such as water and sun protection.
