The beach is situated next to the Caramujeira area, in Lagoa, in the eastern Algarve. Nestled between high limestone outcrops, it opens onto the Atlantic Ocean with its turquoise-hued sea. The surroundings remain almost untouched, with Mediterranean vegetation descending to the rocks.
From the top of the cliffs, it's possible to see rock formations sculpted by erosion and the vastness of the sea. The geographical setting emphasizes the isolated character of this stretch of sand, which remains almost always tranquil.
Arrival is usually by sea, whether by kayak, paddleboard, or small boat, which gives it an air of discovery. For those who prefer to start from the cliff top, there are ropes and some steps carved into the rock that allow descent to the beach, but only for those with good balance and experience on uneven terrain.
This combination of a maritime route or rustic stairs adds a component of adventure, transforming the visit into a small coastal expedition.
The rounded cliffs and vertical crags create a contrast between the light sand and the deep blue of the sea. The sandy shore, about a hundred and sixty meters long, is dotted with small coves and crevices that hold natural pools when the tide is low.
The fine texture of the sand and the hues of the limestone give the place an almost sculptural appearance, making it appealing to those who appreciate photographic records of the Algarve coast.
Due to the difficulty of access, visitor numbers remain low, especially outside the peak months. This isolation translates into an atmosphere of peace, ideal for contemplating the sea to the sound of waves crashing at the base of the cliffs.
The silence is broken only by the breeze and the song of coastal birds. Those seeking an intimate contact with the natural landscape will find a sunny and tranquil corner here.
