Praia do Barranquinho is located on the coast of the municipality of Lagoa, near the town of Carvoeiro. It is situated within an area known as Caramujeira.
This beach is accessed via a path that descends through the cliffs, among pine trees, contributing to its sense of isolation. The surrounding cliffs offer views over the Algarve coast.
This is a small beach, known for its calm and secluded atmosphere. It is a place for those seeking tranquility, away from large crowds.
The peaceful environment is enhanced by the sound of waves and birds, and the aroma of pine trees growing atop the cliffs. Previously more frequented by those seeking full contact with nature, it still maintains a serene character today.
Praia do Barranquinho is framed by golden cliffs and coastal vegetation, namely pine trees at the top. A particular characteristic is the configuration of the sandy area, which extends a considerable distance from the access point to the waterline, making it somewhat unique.
In front of the sandy area, a few tens of meters from the coast, a large isolated rock rises from the sea, punctuating the landscape. Nearby, in the cliffs, there is also a small grotto that can be observed.
The golden sandy area of Praia do Barranquinho invites moments of relaxation. During the summer months, the water tends to be calm and clear, providing good conditions for swimming or exploring with a mask and snorkel.
It is important to note that this is an unsupervised beach, so it is essential to pay attention to sea conditions. As it does not have any equipment or support facilities, visitors are advised to bring everything they need for their stay.
The configuration of the sandy area can change significantly throughout the year. In the winter months, especially during storms or spring tides, the sandy strip may even temporarily disappear.
