Manuel Lourenço Beach is located in the Galé area, part of the town of Guia, in the municipality of Albufeira. This coastal cove is nestled between rock formations that stretch from one side of the sandy area to the other, giving it a unique setting on the Algarve coastline.
The beach has a shape resembling a small shell, protected from winds and stronger waves by the cliffs and rock formations that flank it. The sandy area is spacious enough to enjoy the setting peacefully. The environment is dominated by the warm colors of the sand and cliffs, contrasting with the green of the surrounding vegetation.
To the east, the landscape is enriched by an intricately shaped rocky platform. During low tide, this spot becomes ideal for observing marine life revealed in the tide pools held between the rocks. The submerged rocky areas nearby are also a point of interest for snorkelers, offering a glimpse into the local underwater environment.
The beach's surroundings display diverse vegetation adapted to coastal conditions. Pines and other woody species dot the landscape. Aromatic plants are found on the cliff, while closer to the sandy area, salt-tolerant species like saltbush thrive. During periods of higher rainfall, a small watercourse and its associated vegetation add a distinct touch to the corner of the beach where it empties.
