Samouqueira Beach is located in the Rogil region, part of the municipality of Aljezur, facing the vast Atlantic Ocean. This location is set in an area characterized by its proximity to the urban zone of Rogil and the typical landscape of the Portuguese southwest coast.
The beach is delimited by robust rock formations that extend north and south, creating a striking natural setting. Above these coastal formations, the landscape incorporates cultivated areas before giving way to the more low-lying and wild vegetation near the cliff.
The sandy area of Samouqueira Beach offers considerable extension, providing space to enjoy the coastline. It is important to note that the available sand area varies significantly with tidal movement. During high tide, a large part of the sandy area becomes submerged, altering the beach's physiognomy.
In addition to sand, the beach space also includes areas with pebbles and rock outcrops. These geological formations are particularly visible at low tide, adding diversity to the beach's ground and landscape.
The surrounding landscape of Samouqueira Beach is strongly defined by the cliffs that flank the sandy area. These coastal elevations, covered by spontaneous vegetation adapted to the coastal environment, contribute to the natural scenery and offer a contrast with the beach area.
At the top of the cliffs, the vegetation takes on characteristics reminiscent of dune environments, before meeting the fields that mark the transition to the interior. This combination of natural elements (sea, sand, rocks, cliffs, vegetation, and fields) gives the area a distinct ambiance.
