Fleur Beach is located on the west coast of the town of Luz, in the municipality of Lagos. It is nestled between limestone cliffs, with the elevated crest overlooking the sea. The surroundings are marked by low-lying vegetation and coastal trails that extend above the cliff.
Access to the beach is exclusively by sea, usually requiring the use of small boats. Its secluded position guarantees a sense of isolation and direct contact with the natural environment.
The sandy area is practically non-existent, giving way to a grouping of smooth rocks, carved by erosion over centuries. The irregular surfaces serve as observation platforms for the Atlantic swells.
The mineral composition of the rocks reveals shades of ochre and grey, contrasting with patches of lichen and the greenish crest of coastal plants. Descending to sea level requires care, as the surfaces can be slippery when wet.
The calm waters at the base of the cliff invite the observation of shoals of fish and hermit crabs that take refuge in small cavities. On calmer seas, it is possible to distinguish the light blue transparency up to moderate depths.
The sound of waves crashing against the rocks creates a contemplative atmosphere, where visitors can listen to the continuous murmur of the sea. The variation in the tide exposes different textures on the rock, offering unique visual contrasts throughout the day.
