Praia da Estaquinha is situated in the Caramujeira area, belonging to the municipality of Lagoa, in the Algarve region. It is integrated into the Algarve coastline, directly facing the Atlantic Ocean.
Its position on the coast is notable for its proximity and physical connection to Praia de Albandeira, located to the east, this connection being one of its defining aspects.
This beach features a small sandy area, providing a more intimate atmosphere.
Its waters stand out for their transparency, which easily allows one to glimpse the rocks and underwater formations existing along the coastline.
The surroundings of Praia da Estaquinha are rich in geological elements shaped by the sea and time.
In the eastern area, a set of five caves excavated in the cliff can be observed. A little further in this direction, the cliff forms a remarkable natural arch over the water.
Offshore, about ninety-five meters from the coast, there is an imposing islet whose top is singularly flat.
Access to this sandy area is made in a peculiar way: through a tunnel that connects Praia da Estaquinha to its neighbor, Praia de Albandeira, located to the east.
It is important to note that access via the sand, through this tunnel, is only practicable and safe during low tide.
The cliffs surrounding Praia da Estaquinha exhibit a lacy appearance, resulting from millennia of erosion.
Considering the nature of these coastal formations, it is advisable to maintain a safe distance from the cliffs while on the sand or in nearby areas.
