Nestled in the village of Budens, in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, Clarisse Beach emerges as a small cove facing south. It is surrounded by low limestone cliffs, where ancient agricultural terraces are noticeable.
Despite its discretion, it benefits from a typical rural landscape of the western Algarve coast, with dirt tracks that follow the coastline and vegetation of rockroses and thymes.
The beach, of reduced dimensions, is spread between rounded pebbles and rock blocks that seem randomly deposited by the force of the sea. These stones create small natural pools when the tide recedes.
The cliffs feature cracks and cavities sculpted by erosion, offering variations in texture and color from intense ochre to pale, near the most exposed areas.
The natural surroundings create an atmosphere of calm, only interrupted by the crashing of waves against the rocks. The low-lying vegetation imparts a gentle aroma of resin and wildflowers.
To capture the entire cove, the best viewpoint is from the top of one of the cliffs: it allows for framing the contrast between the blue-green sea and the earthy tone of the cliffs.
