This setting allows direct access to diverse natural landscapes, characterised by pine forests, cork oaks, and coastal areas, shaped by gently undulating terrain and sandy soils.
Founded in 1985, Pinetrees Riding Centre is an establishment with a remarkable history in Algarve equestrianism. As the first centre in Portugal to obtain approval from the Association of British Riding Schools (A.B.R.S.), it stands out for its classical approach to teaching. Its founder, Bev, with extensive experience in tourism and horses, received her main training at the prestigious Talland School of Equitation, where she obtained the British Horse Society's intermediate teaching certificate. The centre is managed by a professional and multilingual team.
Pinetrees Riding Centre offers a riding experience accessible to a wide range of visitors, from four to seventy years of age. Whether for beginners, riders with special needs, or more advanced practitioners, the centre adapts to various skill levels. Both calmer horses and ponies, ideal for lessons and hacks, and well-trained Lusitanos for more experienced riders are used. A particular feature is the provision of suitable clothing, ensuring comfort and safety during the activity.
Horse rides from Pinetrees Riding Centre provide direct contact with the rich landscape of the Ria Formosa Natural Park. The routes traverse extensive forests of stone pines and maritime pines, punctuated by cork oaks and areas where you can smell the aromas of wild herbs like thyme and rosemary. The flora changes with the seasons, with the woodlands covering themselves in wild flowers in spring. The area is also an important habitat for birds, where it is possible to observe anything from azure-winged magpies to flamingos and storks in the lagoons and salt pans. The itineraries explore both dense forest areas and coastal areas, farms, and orange groves, offering varied views and sensations.
